The Mobile Stroke Unit Rolls Out
Providing immediate care to patients suffering a stroke
UC Health is home to the region’s first and only mobile stroke unit (MSU), a vehicle designed to bring emergency department-level care directly to patients experiencing a possible stroke. Since August 2020, the MSU has been dispatched more than 1,100 times. We were the first in Greater Cincinnati to receive comprehensive stroke certification from the Joint Commission and the MSU only furthers the UC Health Comprehensive Stroke Center’s 30+-year tradition of excellence in complex stroke care.
