Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormone disorder in women, affecting 5 to 10 percent of adolescent girls and women. Typically beginning in puberty, it is a life-long condition that often produces several frustrating signs of the condition. These signs include excessive hair on the face and abdomen, acne, obesity and reduced fertility.
The UC Health PCOS Center is the first in the region to bring together highly-trained physicians and providers, offering a collaborative approach to the management of PCOS. Our comprehensive program provides patients with access to specialists trained to address a variety of PCOS-related issues including fertility, healthy weight management and cosmetic concerns like acne and excess hair.
