Your primary care physician may refer you to a UC Health specialist to deal with a specific medical problem. Please contact your insurance company to make sure that the specialist is in your network. Some insurance plans require your primary care physician to complete paperwork authorizing this referral prior to your visit with the specialist. If so, please contact your physician’s office and inform them that a referral is required.
We will make every effort to process your referral as quickly as possible. However, be advised that some insurance companies take several days to process requests.
