Investigational Medication For Bipolar Mania

The purpose of this clinical research study is to find out if lumateperone, an investigational study drug, is safe and whether it works to treat manic episodes associated with Bipolar I disorder when compared with a placebo (a substance with no active ingredient). If you are eligible and choose to take part, you will be admitted to an inpatient unit (unless you have already been admitted to the inpatient unit). You will be asked to participate in a total of seven study visits. These visits will take place every two to seven days. The last two visits may be in an outpatient setting. The study will take about a month to complete. There is no cost to you, and you will be reimbursed for your time.
