The overall purpose of this study is to determine risk factors for alcohol relapse in patients with ALD after receiving a liver transplant. This is particularly important as we can identify patients at highest risk of relapse prior to transplant and track outcomes in patients after transplant. Using this information, we can seek to intervene on higher risk patients based on demographics and other identifying characteristics. We hope to obtain this information by addressing these specific objectives: 1. Determine the prevalence of alcohol relapse following liver transplantation among patients with alcohol associated liver disease (ALD) at the University of Cincinnati. Compare the rates of alcohol relapse between patients with less than or more than 6 months of alcohol abstinence before LT 2. Identify predictors [pre- and post- transplant characteristics, Social Determinant of Health (SDOH), psychosocial factors, alcohol history] of alcohol relapse following liver transplantation for ALD. 3. Determine clinical outcomes (rejection, graft survival, overall survival) among patients transplanted for ALD at UC who return to drinking. 4. Determine drinking patterns and examine what constitutes harmful drinking post liver transplant.
