Safe disposal of prescriptions can take place any day to help keep our community safe and healthy! UC Health partners with the community and this initiative any time the locations below are open to give our patients, their families and our staff the ability to dispose of medications.
Did you know that many misused prescription drugs come from our own medicine cabinets? By clearing out unused or expired medications, you’re helping to deter misuse of prescriptions drugs and reduce any environmental risk from improper disposal.
In November 2022, UC Health installed three medication disposal boxes on the Clifton campus:
Hoxworth Pharmacy
3130 Highland Avenue, Ground Floor, G200
Open M-F: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Closed on federal holidays.
Physicians’ Office Building
222 Piedmont Street, Second Floor, Suite 2000
Open M-F: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Closed on federal holidays.
Discharge Pharmacy
3188 Bellevue Avenue, Main Lobby
*Open 7 days/week, 365 days/year
These drop boxes provide our UC Family and community a safe and anonymous disposal method for unwanted medications. In 2023, UC Health collected and destroyed 1035 lbs of unwanted medications! Together, we can make a difference.
