Telehealth Eases Patient Experience

Dr. Shah

Remote patient monitoring, or “telehealth,” is healthcare practice gaining attention for its potential improvement for patient experience. So convenient, in fact, this clinical communication tool allows patients to communicate with their physicians without ever leaving home. For patients who have frequent and recurring appointments with their care team, utilizing this service can make a huge difference. The burden of time and money spent driving to and from the doctor’s office can be lifted.

Telehealth can be also be a blessing for those with complex or chronic diseases, or for patients who have a higher risk of readmission to the hospital – like those who have recently received an organ transplant. Through the use of digital technology, telehealth can give these patients the ability to talk to their doctor more frequently, with continuous monitoring, and even allows for vital sign checks between in-person visits. In short, this can potentially lead to reduced hospitalization and a better quality of life. Read the original story by Shimul Shah, MD here >>
