A modern, expanded Emergency Department
As the region’s only Level I trauma center, we have a responsibility to our community to be fully and easily prepared to care for all patients – especially those with the most complex illnesses and injury. We will renovate and expand the 30-year-old Emergency Department at UC Medical Center to better anticipate and serve the needs of the community.
Additional operating room capacity
Today, our outpatient operating rooms are located in a different building, Holmes Hospital, from the main hospital, UC Medical Center. We will consolidate these operating rooms into one location, UC Medical Center, to improve patient care and staff efficiency. We will also add additional operating rooms.
New employee, patient parking
As the region’s academic health center and a major hub for research, teaching and patient care, convenient, accessible parking has been one of our organization’s top challenges. In order to better accommodate our patients, visitors and our employees, we will build two new parking structures on existing land at UC Medical Center’s Ridgeway Tower: a 300-car parking garage for patients and families, and a 1,000-car employee garage.
