The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 and is an 8-week evidence-based group stress-reduction program that has been shown to be beneficial for a wide variety of physical and psychological issues, including pain, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and chronic illness. The course teaches techniques such as mindfulness practices, movement (e.g. yoga, stretching), and group connection aimed at enhancing self-awareness and self-care. The program is facilitated by an MBSR-certified instructor. The cost of the program covers all program materials and 28 hours of class time, including an all-day Immersion Retreat at the beautiful Cincinnati Nature Center in Milford, OH.
