Dr. Phero is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon whose clinical practice focuses on corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma and reconstruction, temporomandibular joint surgery, and the management of benign head and neck pathology.
He has been active in academic education, research, and administrative activities since joining UC Health in 2019. His current research projects include analysis of patient populations receiving full mouth extractions and the use of buffered local anesthetic for procedures in the oral cavity. He has been recognized by the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) for his prior research with buffered local anesthetics.
Dr. Phero is active at UC Medical Center and nationally in team simulation training for evaluation and management of medical emergencies. He is an American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Dr. Phero is active in multiple professional societies including the AAOMS, ACOMS, ADSA, and OSOMSs.
