Robert Ellis, MD, is originally from Cleveland, OH. He came to Cincinnati to attend the University of Cincinnati where he earned a bachelors degree in Biology. At UC, he competed in Track and Cross Country and was a captain and MVP for the Cross Country Team. He earned his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his family medicine residency at The Christ Hospital/University of Cincinnati Program. During his last year of residency he was name chief resident. Dr. Ellis is family physician for UC Health in Cincinnati, where he serves a diverse population of patients. He takes care of patients of all ages including children. He performs a variety of procedures including skin biopsies, mole removal, skin tag removal, joint injection and aspiration, and abscess drainage. He has a special interest in human and pet interactions and disease that can be transmitted between humans and animals. He has written several articles and chapters on this subject and has lectured both locally and nationally with his wife who is a practicing Veterinarian. Dr. Ellis is an Associate Professor at the University of Cincinnati and has a special interest in medical student education. He is the Director of the Division of Medical Student Education for the Department of Family and Community Education. He has received awards for teaching medical students and residents. He currently runs several courses at the College of Medicine. He is active in our local community and serves on the school board for a local Montessori school. He has been named to The Best Doctors list as appears in Cincy Magazine for the past several years. Dr. Ellis enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with his wife, 2 children, and multiple animals.
