Jen Colvin, MD, is a bariatric surgeon at the UC Health Weight Loss Center. Her surgical specialties include gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Colvin specializes in new technologies and techniques for minimally invasive surgery, with more invasive procedures now performed laparoscopically and endoscopically with tremendous benefit to patients.
She also possesses a strong background in quality improvement, patient safety and education. She has led several quality improvement projects, including a general surgery residency curriculum that positively contributed to quality improvements in care for patients.
Dr. Colvin completed her bachelors degree with honors and with research distinction in chemistry (magna cum laude) from Ohio State University, and her doctor of medicine (cum laude) from Ohio State Universitys College of Medicine.
Her post-graduate education and training included completion of her general surgery residency and clinical research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She completed a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal/minimally invasive bariatric surgery at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
I enjoy improving patients lives for the better, says Dr. Colvin. I believe that education is a critical component of patient care, and I always strive to ensure that my patients understand the why behind the care we provide.
