UC Health’s UC Medical Center, the region’s only adult academic health system, has been ranked among the world’s best hospitals for the sixth year in a row —and as one of Cincinnati’s top three hospitals by Newsweek Magazine’s World’s Best Hospitals 2024 ratings.
UC Medical Center, the region’s only adult Level I trauma center and referral destination for the most advanced cancer and neuroscience care and treatment, has received this high rating every year since the inception of Newsweek/Statista’s World Best Hospital ratings in 2019.
“We are immensely proud of UC Medical Center’s consistent recognition as one of the world’s best hospitals. This acknowledgment is a testament to the exceptional dedication and expertise of our clinicians and staff, who consistently uphold the highest standards of healthcare delivery,” said Robert J. Wiehe, Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer for Hospital Operations at UC Health.
This year’s ratings were based on data sources from Newsweek and Statista—a global provider of market and consumer data. This includes recommendations made by more than 85,000 medical experts across the globe. Clinician recommendations, patient experience and medical key performance indicators also played a role in the hospital’s long-term positive rating.
"We deeply value the unwavering dedication of our entire team in delivering quality, safe, and compassionate care every day. It is truly the collective effort of our teams that enables us to consistently rank among the world’s best hospitals for clinical excellence,” said Teri Grau, MHA, BSN, RN, Vice President of Operations & Chief Nursing Officer at UC Medical Center.
UC Medical Center has received similar high-profile ratings for many years. Most recently, the hospital was ranked as a “2023 Best Hospital” in Greater Cincinnati and in the state by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital was also named among Ohio’s Best Workplaces by Ohio Business Magazine the previous year.
Affiliated with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, UC Health teaches the next generation of clinicians and provides patients with the most advanced medical care. Its multidisciplinary teams of trained professionals and experts deliver nationally recognized care to more than 500,000 patients from all 50 states each year.
