CINCINNATI — UC Health has expanded its Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Clinic located on the campus of West Chester Hospital.

The four-month, nearly $1 million project added eight new exam rooms and allows UC Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine to accommodate additional physicians and expanded clinic hours to serve the community.

“The department is now poised to accommodate continued growth in all orthopaedic subspecialties as well as provide our patients an optimal environment and experience,” said Michael Archdeacon, MD, Peter J. Stern Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UC College of Medicine, and a UC Health physician.

Archdeacon said the need for additional clinic space became a necessity as the department and practice continued to grow in the West Chester market. The expansion, completed in June 2019, was overseen by Barton Branam, MD, vice chair of clinical operations.

“Expeditious access to highly skilled orthopaedic subspecialists is important to our patients not only in the West Chester community but in all of the Tristate,” says Branam, adding that the expansion of the West Chester office meets a growing demand for longitudinal care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

The UC Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine clinic is located at UC Health Physicians Office–West Chester (North). It is one of 12 locations throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The practice’s physicians are routinely named among the Best Doctors in America and Top Doctors in Cincinnati for the outstanding care they provide.

The West Chester clinic also introduced extended office hours earlier this year. New patients can now schedule an appointment between 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays. Saturday appointments are also available at UC Health Physicians Offices located in White Oak and Florence from August through November.

Over the past two years, UC Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has added a dozen new team members to accommodate an increase in patient volume, including: Michael Beltran, MD (trauma surgery); Tonya Dixon, MD (foot and ankle); Timothy Foster, MD (physical medicine and rehabilitation, sports medicine); Richard Laughlin, MD (foot and ankle); Henry C. Sagi, MD (trauma surgery); and Phil Ross, MD (hand and upper extremity), who will join UC Health in September.

The practice will also have added six new advanced practice providers—nurse practitioners and physician assistants—by the end of 2019.
