UC Health’s Hospitals Named as Best Workplaces in Ohio

Jun. 1, 2022

CINCINNATI - UC Health’s West Chester Hospital and UC Medical Center have been named as 2022 Best Workplaces by Ohio Business Magazine.

The two hospitals are among just 60 businesses within the entire state of Ohio to be included on this prestigious list.

This annual list recognizes organizations across the state that are making a difference in their employees’ lives by building and sustaining positive, progressive workplace cultures.

The magazine accepts nominations from an organization’s own employees, as well as local community residents, to determine its honorees.

This is the sixth consecutive year (2017-2022) that West Chester Hospital has been included and the first year that UC Medical Center has been named to the list.

“We are proud that our employees, as well as members of our community, continue to appreciate our workplace culture and want to place us among the best workplaces in the state,” Jimmy Duncan, senior vice president and chief human resources officer for UC Health said. “We work very hard to provide a supportive and meaningful work environment for our team of dedicated healthcare professionals, and this accomplishment is validation of our efforts.”

UC Health places significant emphasis on its Be Supported Campaign that celebrates and rewards our valued employees, as well as supports recruitment and retention. Campaign components include market-leading base pay, annual incentive plans, enhanced retirement options, education cohorts, career ladders, the THRIVE Wellness Program and employee recognition programs such as the Daisy Award for nursing staff, the ROSE Award for non-nursing support staff and PRIIDE Awards for employees, teams, leaders and physicians.

As part of our mission, UC Health continually strives to design and implement programs that will ensure a positive and supportive workplace environment for its employees. The results of this Best Workplaces in Ohio program confirm that these programs are having a positive impact within the UC Health organization.
