UC Health Expands No-Appointment COVID-19 Vaccinations

Apr. 20, 2021

After a successful pilot on Tuesday, April 20, UC Health will now provide no-appointment vaccinations for COVID-19 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Individuals age 16 and older who wish to receive a COVID-19 vaccine may arrive without an appointment between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on those days, effective immediately.

“At UC Health, we are committed to offering a COVID-19 vaccination to any individual in our community who wants one,” said Dustin Calhoun, MD, medical director of emergency management for UC Health. “We hope that by expanding access to individuals without an appointment, more people in our community will take advantage of this opportunity.”

The UC Health COVID-19 Community Vaccination Center is located at the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute in Clifton in a drive-through setting. It is staffed by UC Health pharmacists, nurses and pharmacy students.

Individuals seeking a COVID-19 vaccine and who do not have an appointment will be registered on-site, receive a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and will be scheduled for a second appointment. The vaccination center primarily administers the Pfizer vaccine.

All individuals age 16 and older can receive a COVID-19 vaccine at UC Health as part of the state of Ohio’s distribution plan. You do NOT have to be an Ohio resident or a UC Health patient to receive a vaccination.

A photo ID is required, and individuals age 16 or 17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Advance appointments are encouraged to ensure a faster and more efficient experience, but they are no longer required on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Individuals who wish to schedule an appointment can call 513-584-DOSE.

The UC Health COVID-19 Community Vaccination Clinic is located at 3113 Bellevue Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229. For information or directions, please visit https://www.uchealth.com/en/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/vaccine-distribution.
