Ways To Help

Showing Support During COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused UC Health and the Cincinnati community to work together in new ways. “How can I help?” has been a question we've received often. Below are several ways you can support and make a positive impact during this critical time.

ONE  |  Donate to the UC Health Crisis Response Fund

In times of crisis, UC Health is on the front lines for our community. Show your support by donating to the Crisis Response Fund. This fund will support the immediate needs of UC Health help to lead the response to pandemics such as COVID-19. Your gift will be used for the emerging needs of the clinicians and health system as we work to understand, treat and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As the region's only academic health system, we are committed to finding new breakthroughs through science-based medicine and leading-edge research. Donations like these will help us make new discoveries for our patients and our community.

TWO  |  Purchase a “Strength in Unity” Shirt at Cincy Shirts

UC Health and Cincy Shirts have partnered together to create a new t-shirt called “Strength in Unity”. This title was inspired by the City of Cincinnati’s motto, “Juncta Juvant”, which is found on the city’s seal and flag. It is also found on the seal of the University of Cincinnati.

Portions of these t-shirt sale proceeds will benefit the YMCA of Cincinnati Emergency Response Fund. This fund has been set up to provide financial support for day camps for children of healthcare providers in our community, so they can continue to care for others.

THREE  |  Send letters, cards and drawings to residents at our city’s assisted living and nursing facilities.

Social distancing does not have to mean loneliness. We are asking Cincinnati to Keep Cincinnati Close by writing a letter, a note, a poem – whatever moves you – to send to our residents at Bridgeway Pointe, or at any of the participating residences listed who have restricted visitation access during this time. Staff will deliver these notes to residents accordingly.

The UC Health Infection Prevention team has approved the delivery of cards, letters and drawings to patients and residents who can’t receive visitors.

FOUR  |  Donate convalescent plasma, blood or platelets

The University of Cincinnati, UC Health and Hoxworth Blood Center have launched a new clinical trial for the use of convalescent plasma to treat the sickest COVID-19 patients in our community. If you have recovered from COVID-19 and have been free of symptoms for 28 days, please fill out the eligibility form and schedule a donation. An appointment is required.

Blood and platelets are also in short supply due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Your donation could make an extraordinary impact on someone here in Greater Cincinnati.

This is a critical time as our clinicians continue to work tirelessly to treat as many patients as possible. Now more than ever, it’s essential to keep our employees on the frontlines protected and healthy, so we can continue to treat as many patients as we can to keep our community safe.
