Phone or Video Visit
The safety of our patients is our top priority. One way we are promoting a safe and healing environment for all is by offering phone and video visits as an alternative to a traditional office visit for certain nonemergency conditions. To request a phone or video visit, please contact your UC Health provider's office or call 513-475-8000.
Phone Visits
What is a phone visit?
A phone visit allows you to speak with your healthcare provider by telephone. There is no video visual or photo available during a phone visit. During a phone visit, your UC Health provider will discuss your health concerns, review your medical record information and recommend a treatment plan. Your provider may also be able to prescribe any needed medication and send a digital prescription to your preferred pharmacy. A summary of your visit and any applicable prescriptions can be found in your My UC Health (MyChart) account.
How much will a phone visit cost?
As with any appointment or visit, a phone visit will have a cost associated with it. Phone visits may be temporarily covered by some health insurance carriers. UC Health will send an invoice to patients’ insurance carriers after each visit. If there is a remaining balance or if a patient does not have insurance coverage, a patient may receive a bill not exceeding $45.
How can I request a phone visit?
Speak with your doctor to determine if a phone visit is right for you. Your doctor’s office should help schedule your upcoming phone visit. If you do not have the phone number for your doctor’s office or if you are a new patient, please call 513-475-8000.
If you already have a UC Health provider, you can also request a phone visit by logging on to your My UC Health (MyChart) account, selecting “appointments” and then selecting “schedule an appointment.” When you book an appointment, your doctor’s office will provide you with advanced information on how you can prepare for your phone visit.
Video Visits
What is a video visit?
Video visits allow you to have a real-time video appointment with your doctor using a smartphone or tablet and without having to come into the office. It’s an alternative to traditional office visits, giving you a fast and convenient way to connect with your healthcare provider for things like follow-up visits and care for certain nonemergency conditions.
During a video visit, your UC Health provider will discuss your health concerns, review your medical record information and recommend a treatment plan. Your provider may also be able to prescribe any needed medication and send a digital prescription to your preferred pharmacy.
A summary of your visit and any applicable prescriptions can be found in your My UC Health (MyChart) account.
Video visits are a feature of My UC Health, a safe and secure online application that allows you and any other UC Health patient to access, manage and receive their own personal health information from a smartphone, tablet and computer.
