Sanghvi Center for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Opens
Bringing together the expertise of two academic departments, cardiology and radiology, the new Sanghvi Center for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at University of Cincinnati (UC) Medical Center is a partnership that strengthens the ability to provide exceptional care to patients throughout the region.
The new Center provides next-generation imaging technology and deep expertise not yet available at other institutions.
“The strong collaboration between our cardiologists, radiologists and scientists is unlike any other in our area,” says Richard Becker, MD, director and physician-in-chief of the UC Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute and director of the UC Division of Cardiovascular Health and Disease.
Andrew Crean, MD MRCP, FRCR, Vijay and Khushman Sanghvi Endowed Chair in Cardiac Imaging and director of the Center, says the focus will be on the development and application of imaging technology for the diagnosis, treatment and study of complex cardiovascular disease. Some of the advanced imaging offered at The Center includes:
• Coronary CT Angiography
• Cardiac PET-CT
• Cardiac MRI
• Nuclear Imaging, including solid state technology
• Exercise Stress Testing
• Echocardiography
• Trans-Esophageal Echocardiography
• Intracardiac Ultrasound
• Three-Dimensional Echocardiography.
