West Chester Hospital Re-Designated as an Aetna Institute of Quality® for Bariatric Surgery

UC Health’s West Chester Hospital has been re-designated as an Aetna Institute of Quality® Bariatric Surgery Facility for treating individuals living with morbid, or extreme, obesity.

To achieve this designation, West Chester Hospital had to meet multiple Aetna program requirements, including holding industry accreditation with the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery; an ongoing quality improvement program; achievement of specified surgical volume requirements; and detailed demonstration of positive clinical outcomes for patients.

The UC Health West Chester Campus is home to the UC Health Weight Loss Center featuring the region’s top bariatric surgeons who perform hundreds of bariatric procedures each year.

The UC Health Weight Loss Center provides a proven comprehensive/multidisciplinary approach to weight loss and weight management. The center combines the knowledge of the University of Cincinnati’s world-class research program with a team of compassionate clinical weight loss experts.

Aetna makes information about the quality and cost of health care services available to its members to help them make informed decisions about their health care needs. In line with this goal, Aetna recognizes hospitals and facilities in its network that offer specialized clinical services for certain health conditions. Facilities are selected IOQ for consistently delivering evidence-based, safe care. To learn more, please visit Aetna Bariatric Surgery Facilities.
