Career Journeys Program
Are you interested in pursuing a healthcare career?
UC Health proudly offers opportunities for high school students to learn more about clinical and nonclinical healthcare careers through the UC Health Career Journeys Program at UC Medical Center. This program offers an exciting coeducational experience to interested and eligible local high school teens.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Volunteering can have a meaningful impact on our patients, their families and our staff.
General Requirements
Individuals must meet certain requirements in order to join our volunteering program. Common requirements include an annual flu shot, TB test, background check and orientation. Because of this extensive onboarding process, a minimum time commitment is required for all volunteers and can vary slightly for student and adult programs.
What to Expect
All volunteers will go through an application and interview process to determine where their skills are best needed within various departments of our hospitals. Our volunteers have the opportunity to assist with patient activities, clerical duties, customer service roles in waiting rooms and clinic environments, or assist patients and visitors by escorting them throughout the facility.
Benefits of Voluteering
Volunteering in a hospital is more than just another way to gain valuable experience. When you volunteer in a hospital, you are changing lives by helping people who need it most. You'll see how various departments work together to provide the best service to our patients and visitors, and how each role is important in providing excellent care.
