Transforming Complex Care
UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute Building – Opening in 2019
For more than 30 years, Cincinnati has been at the forefront of neurologic care. Physicians at UC Health helped discover the only FDA-approved medical treatment for ischemic stroke — saving countless lives around the world. We were also the first to receive FDA approval to use the YAG laser to vaporize inoperable brain tumors. Today, the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute is made up of more than 125 physicians and researchers. Our physicians lead national organizations for headache, Parkinson’s and epilepsy, developing nationwide standards of care and championing neuroscience research.
Such national acclaim has made us a destination for neurologic and psychiatric care. In November 2016, the UC Health Board of Trustees approved the planning of a new outpatient building. The new building will open for patients in spring 2019.
We’d like to especially thank the James J. and Joan A. Gardner Family Foundation for supporting our new building with a transformative $14 million gift, the largest in the history of the neuroscience institute.
Thank you for your support.
“Soon, neurologic and psychiatric patients will have a new home in Cincinnati. The UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute building will be tailored to our patients’ unique needs. Functionality and innovation will align, giving our patients the best care possible.”
