UC Health Announces New Board Chair, Three Board Members

CINCINNATI - The UC Healthcare System and UC Health announced a number of changes recently made within the UC Health Board of Directors.


On Oct. 25, Sandy Heimann was elected chair of the board of directors for UC Health. Heimann joined the UC Health Board of Directors in 2012 and most recently served as vice chair. Recently retired, Heimann was vice president of American Finance, vice president of Great American Insurance Company, and also previously served as the chair of the University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees. Other officers of the UC Health Board of Directors include: Jeffrey Wyler, vice chair, and Joseph Broderick, MD, secretary.

Recent board chair Margaret Buchanan, former publisher of the Cincinnati Enquirer, stepped down from the board to relocate with her family to Boise, Idaho. Buchanan had served on the UC Health Board of Directors since 2010.

Lofgren, MD, UC Health president and CEO. “Sandy’s proven combination of leadership, business acumen and her passion for our mission and vision at UC Health is an asset to our organization.”

In addition, three new community leaders were announced as members of the UC Health board: Joanne Harris, Gary Johns and J. Carter McNabb.

Harris currently serves as vice president – sales, North America for Procter & Gamble. During her 30-year career with P&G, she has established herself as a strong community leader focused on keeping the consumer at the center of her work. Harris also serves on the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Industry Affairs Council.

Johns is the chief executive officer and owner of G&W Products, located in Fairfield, Ohio. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Johns is an active member of the community and serves on a variety of boards, including UCATS, Sealtite, University of Cincinnati Foundation and The Cincinnati Regional Business Committee.

McNabb has served as managing director of River Cities since 1999. For almost two decades, he has worked in the healthcare industry, including service on the boards of Nico, OrthAlign, TissueTech and PerfectServe.
