Myles Pensak, MD, is the H.B. Broidy Professor and Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and a Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Pensak is recognized internationally as an authority of diseases of the ear and skull base, with a particular interest in acoustic neuroma, petroclival meningioma, tumors of the jugular foramen and malignancies of the temporal bone.
A Board Certified neurotologist and otolaryngologist, he is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the Otologic and Neurotologic Societies and the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society (aka The Triological Society). He is the recipient of both the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Honor Award and the Distinguished Service Award. In 1992, he was awarded the acclaimed “Mosher Award” by The Triological Society.
His clinical expertise has earned him recognition in “Best Doctors in America” and “America’s Top Doctors”. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer, University of Cincinnati Physicians; Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine; and Senior Vice President, UC Health. His first authored papers have appeared in numerous professional journals, and he has presented his findings to scientific societies on both the national and international levels.

Lori Mackey was named Chief Operating Officer of University of Cincinnati Physicians (UCP) in October 2008. With more than 22 years of health care experience, she is responsible for providing strategic leadership for operations, financial management and strategic planning for UC Health’s physician practices.
Prior to joining UCP, Ms. Mackey served as Vice President of Operations for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for 16 years, where she was responsible for the finance and operations of over 400 physicians and scientists. Ms. Mackey was also a health care consultant for Deloitte & Touche. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ohio University in Athens, OH, with a double major in Finance and Economics and she received her MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH.
Ms. Mackey is an active member of the Medical Management Group Association (MGMA) and is the treasurer of the Association of Administrators in Academic Pediatrics (AAAP).

Steven Knost was promoted to Facilities Director for University of Cincinnati Physicians (UC Health) in 2008. His responsibilities include overseeing nine ambulatory buildings as well as the financial management for the sites. In addition to facilities management, he manages all construction projects for the ambulatory locations.
Mr. Knost has been in Facilities Management for the past 26 years and his career has encompassed managing information technologies, telecommunications and facilities management of an ambulatory surgical hospital.
Mr. Knost served four and a half years in the United States Air Force where he attended the Community College of the Air Force and the University of Maryland. Mr. Knost has been married for 30 years and has two daughters and a grandson.
Director of Human Resources

Sheila McCormick was named Director of Human Resources for UC Physicians in January, 2016. Her responsibilities include developing and managing employment policies and processes for the organization; designing UCP’s benefits plans and managing the benefits enrollment process; ensuring compliance with employment related laws and regulations; coaching organizational leaders regarding performance and employee relations issues; consulting with management on organization design and staffing issues; and selecting, implementing, and managing the organization’s HRIS systems.
Dr. McCormick has served the College of Medicine since January 2004 when she joined the Department of Surgery as HR Manager. She was promoted to HR Manager for UC Physicians in 2009.
Prior to joining UCP, Dr. McCormick served as an organizational change management consultant and organization development specialist with Ernst & Young LLP. She also served as Human Resources Manager for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.
Dr. McCormick earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Thomas More College, with a double major in Business Administration and Psychology, followed by both a Master’s degree and Ph.D., in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Bowling Green State University.
Director of Revenue Cycle

Amy Schaub was named Director of Revenue Cycle for UC Physicians in April 2015. Her purpose is to provide strategic direction of all revenue cycle operations through effective processes, communication, charge entry, billing, A/R management, compliance, and contracting. She has direct responsibility for management of the centralized physician billing office. The UCP Revenue Cycle is responsible for collecting over $185,000,000 annually for over 800 physicians and midlevel providers.
Ms. Shaub served for four years as the Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle for the University of Cincinnati Physicians Company (UCPC) from 2011-2015. Prior to that role, beginning in 1999, she served the Department of Surgery in several roles within revenue cycle with progressively growing areas of responsibility including Billing Coordinator, Credentialing Coordinator, Accounts Receivable Manager and Patient Accounting Manager.

Director of Quality Improvement

Megan Sullivan is the Director of Quality Improvement for UC Health University of Cincinnati Physicians. Her job typically entails improving patient experience, patient safety, clinical outcomes, population health, care coordination and pay-for-performance metrics. She spends time vetting and sharing data to drive improvement.
A veteran of 14 years in the health care field, Ms. Sullivan has worked in UC Physicians Administration since 2011, first as a quality manager and now as Director of Quality Improvement. She worked in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the UC College of Medicine from 2001 to 2005 as a student helper and then accounts payable specialist. In between, she managed a local home health agency.
Ms. Sullivan’s Ohio roots are deep: Born and raised on the West side, she earned a Bachelor of Science in magazine journalism from Ohio University and an MS in business administration and accounting from UC. She has three children and enjoys spending time with her family.
