This seminar will feature a West Chester Hospital health care experts who will discuss how medications work, why we need them, and why it is important to follow dosage directions.

 Additional topics include:

  • How do prescribed medicines work and why do they help us?
  • What happens when you don’t follow dosage instructions?
  • How can one avoid dangerous side effects when taking multiple medications?
  • What are the most common medications (cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes, etc.) and how do they work? When taking them long-term, do they put us at risk?
  • How does one maximize the effectiveness of medications?
  • Why is important to talk with your primary care physician about your prescribed medications?
  • Why is it important to become acquainted with his/her pharmacist?
