Whole New Lease on Life

After suffering a heart attack and stroke, 71-year-old Mary Hearst tired easily and often felt out of breath doing simple tasks. She started losing hope before meeting Dr. Satya Shreenivas, University of Cincinnati Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute, who willingly accepted her as his patient. He performed a TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)–a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which a heart valve is replaced by way of a tiny catheter that is inserted into an artery. Hearst was home the day after her surgery and her energy has been restored. Hearst credits Dr. Shreenivas and UC Health for her renewed sense of hope and health.
